Letter from SVP President, Blaire Van Valkenburgh
Dear members and colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 69th Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP), and the 57th Symposium of Vertebrate Palaeontology and Comparative Anatomy (SVPCA), to be held in Bristol, England, September 23-26, 2009! This will be our first meeting outside North America and promises to present a terrific program in a wonderful venue.
In an effort to cut costs as well as reduce our carbon footprint, SVP will be going green and moving to an electronic-only meeting circular and abstract issue. The program and abstracts will be available on our Web site prior to the meeting for you to browse and download. At the meeting, registration packets will include a schedule-at-a-glance and a full listing of presentations, and there will be laptops available to view the full text of the abstracts online. In addition, internet service at hot spots in the university will be provided to all meeting registrants, so bring your laptop!
Another good budget-saving tip is to remember to register for the meeting before July 1, to get the early registration rate (but you can still register for the meeting after that date).
See the Important Deadlines on the home page so that you don’t miss out!
See you in September!

Blaire Van Valkenburgh
SVP President
